A White Night in Paris

A White Night in Paris

Some events are so successful and delight their audience so completely that they are eagerly awaited each year. This is the case with the Nuit Blanche (White Night), which returns for its 18th annual edition on October 5th. The Compagnie Hotelière de Bagatelle highly recommends this night-time arts festival!

The Nuit Blanche by Didier Fusillier

The City of Paris, organiser of the event, entrusts the spirit of each year’s Nuit Blanche to an artistic director. This year the honour has fallen to Didier Fusillier, who is particularly knowledgeable about new artistic trends as he’s responsible for the artistic programming of the Grande Halle de la Villette. Didier has decided that this year’s edition will place the Peripherique Parisien in the spotlight. This huge ring road encircling Paris will be closed to traffic and illuminated to create a safe route for cyclists. Get on your bike from 19:00 and see that art knows how to escape from museums!

On the move

The concept behind the Nuit Blanche is to allow the public access to contemporary art outside of galleries and museums and to change the look of the city by diverting places from their primary function. This year there is also an emphasis on keeping moving. In addition to the giant cycle track of the Peripherique, you can participate in the Grande Parade, where dancers, musicians, artists and other performers will feature, and in the Grande Traversée, a non-competitive tour that will take you among the great Parisian monuments dedicated to art. Please note that some of these activities are available only by reservation. Ask the advice of your Compagnie Hotelière de Bagatelle hotel team!

The Compagnie Hotelière de Bagatelle likes to share with you its favourites; the events that make Paris truly special. The Nuit Blanche is definitely one such event! Whichever hotel you choose, you won’t be far from some aspect of the Nuit Blanche.
